Do I need a soil test before I apply this?
A soil test is a great tool to measure a plant’s growing potential. Often, soil nutrients are either lacking or may be in abundance which affect plant health and growth. A soil test is recommended every few growing seasons to establish a baseline of nutrients and other characteristics including pH, soil texture and amount of organic matter. We recommend using the Colorado State University soil lab—normal turn-around time is two weeks. Instructions, pricing and more information can be found on their website.
